Island Rum Punch

Patricia Mull’s Island Rum Punch

• 1 of Sour (1 cup of freshly squeezed lime juice)

• 2 of Sweet (2 cups of sugar)

• 3 of Strong (3 cups of rum)

• 4 of Weak (4 cups of water)

• Couple of dashes of Angostura bitters, and couple of dashes of freshly ground nutmeg

Mix sugar w/1-2 cups of water. Heat until dissolved. Add all ingredients to sugar and water mixture. When ready to serve, pour over crushed ice. Add bitters and nutmeg on top!

Don’t use fruit juice as a substitute for water. It may taste good but will leave you with a hangover!

This recipe came from Barbados and dates back to the 1500′s.
